The restaurant is already full until September, but here’s what you can expect when dining at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill at Sunway Resort, Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysians are really very lucky. The first Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill outside the UK has landed on our shores, and with that, an opulent dining experience that you simply cannot miss. Even if the restaurant risks being fully booked for the next few months, what an achievement! – we can say with confidence that it is worth the wait.
Conveniently located at Sunway Resort, the restaurant is accessible from the resort lobby. Golden and sparkling, you can easily spot it from a mile away. The restaurant blends Gordon Ramsay’s iconic British heritage with the grandeur of the Sunway Resort, resulting in a stunning space that is a feast for the eyes.
Exuding British sophistication, the rugged interior decor sees rich reds and forest greens accented by polished walnut flooring, gleaming brass finishes, a hand-placed 24-karat gold leaf ceiling, and more. Along the walls of the main dining room are monochrome portraits of Britain’s brightest stars such as Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Sean Connery and models Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy.
The location can comfortably accommodate 150 people at a time. If you want to dine in a more intimate setting, it has three private dining rooms: 8 Mayfair, 10 Soho and 12 Chelsea. Semi-private cabins are also available, as well as a sparkling cocktail bar with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook stunning city views.
With menus inspired by London’s famous Savoy Grill and using only the finest ingredients, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is already one of the city’s most sought-after restaurants. Pair that with a Gordon-Ramsay trained team and you’re in for an unforgettable dining experience.
Highlights at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Malaysia, the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, Kuala Lumpur:
Prior to the launch of the lunch offer, Prestige Online Malaysia was invited to taste the best of the best that Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill has to offer.
We started with a magnificent Seafood Tour, filled to the brim with fresh oysters, Boston lobster, scallop ceviche, king crab legs, shrimp and citrus cured salmon. The stars of the show here were the lobster and crab legs, which were flavorful and juicy at the same time.
Following this was the Citrus Salmon, which was as delicious as it was beautiful. The dish was sprinkled with smoked yogurt, kohlrabi and salmon roe, for a symphony of flavors.
Our second entree was the well balanced Aged Steak Tartare. Aged beef tenderloin, egg yolk confit and pickle gel were complemented by venison crisps, which added a delicious crunch to an otherwise delicately textured dish.
The dining experience has reached a crescendo here, with the Arnold Bennett Twice Baked Soufflé. With smoked haddock, aged cheddar sauce and herb salad, every spoonful was rich, silky and full of flavor. It is a dish that you will eat until the last bite.
Then we moved on to our first main course: the Murray River Cod. Bursting with flavour, this savory dish was topped off with browned butter sabayon, salmon roe and chicken skin crumble.
Then there was the dish that everyone was waiting for – the Classic Beef Wellington. Accompanied by comforting apple puree, red wine jus and a lovely salad, each serving was generous and will definitely be worth the wait for future diners.
To our delight, the next course was the Traditional Sunday Roast, served with Yorkshire pudding, mashed spinach, butter roasted potatoes, carrots and broccolini. Although you might have to wait a little longer to try this dish (it’s available from August 7), the roast was easily a staple at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill.
Finally, we moved on to desserts, and the first of the two was the Manjari Chocolate Tart 64%. This decadent slice was enhanced with a sweet honeycomb, surprisingly refreshing yogurt sorbet and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
To conclude our dining experience at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, we were served a superb Selection of cheesewhich included Bleu d’Auvergne, Crémeux de Bourgogne, Epoisses, Mimolette and Sainte-Maure de Touraine.
At the moment, this Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Malaysia is only taking dinner reservations. The lunch offer starts on August 1, 2022 and a traditional Sunday Roast menu will be introduced on August 7, 2022.
