The Phoenix at Ridgeway underwent transformation following a six-figure investment from Greene King.
A traditional coaching inn with some rooms dating back 400 years, original pub features such as beams and fireplaces in the comforts and hayloft have been kept with new decor.
Outside, the two-level area has been enlarged to provide 250 seats. On the upper level of the beer garden there is a heated pergola for eating and drinking. The new lower level outdoor patio, which overlooks the lawn, has been significantly expanded and is four times deeper than before.
The Phoenix introduced a grill menu alongside its line of pub classics.
General Manager Jamie Daly said of the new offering: âWe are really excited to be both a traditional pub and a grill restaurant and have invested a lot in our kitchen equipment to ensure that the dishes that we cook with love, including our 32oz Tomahawk Steak. – are deliciously soft, succulent and fresh. We’ll continue to complement our grill menu with a wide selection of pub classics that we know our customers love – including steak and beer pie or our hand-breaded cod – as well as a full lunch menu. lighter bites and brunch with a difference. We would like to think there is something for everyone. Best of all, it’s all served by the same recognizable friendly faces.
